Hello, everyone! As many of you know, I am crazy about EASY activities that take up A LOT of time, have virtually NO PREP, are QUICK to clean up and still leave us with a BEAUTIFUL experience, craft or art piece.
That’s why I’m kicking myself that I didn’t know about washi tape before! Washi tape, or deco/decorators tape as it is often referred to, is my new BCS, aka best craft supply. Take that, paper, glue and scissors! (Don’t worry, I still love you!)
Washi tape designs can be cute, colorful, gorgeous, vintage, have words, cartoons, pictures, patterns, bright or pastel colors, glittery, flowery and best of all is like magic–it can turn anything into something fabulous in an instant! Even old toilet paper rolls or cereal boxes or that beat up old chair become gorgeous crafts, decorations or works of art with just a few strips of washi tape! SERIOUSLY.
Another thing I LOVE about it (See? I told you I was crazy!) is how easy it is even for young children to handle. Even though it sticks to many surfaces, it’s not the kind of sticky where kids can’t work with it lest it get stuck to their hands (DUCT tape, I’m looking at you!) and just makes them frustrated!
So I thought to gather some of the best crafts and ideas using washi tape WITH KIDS (there are plenty stunning and gorgeous DIY projects for the big people out there! Take a look!) and I was so pleased with what I found, and I hope you will be too!
My 3 youngest made some washi tape art recently, and it turned out stunning, if I may say so myself! Check it out here: easy washi tape art for kids. If you have older kids who like art, they would love this too!
